Medical Dermatology Society membership is open to all academic dermatologists, office or hospital based practicing dermatologists, and dermatological researchers who have a focus of interest in medical dermatology who are certified by the American Board of Dermatology or have received specialty certification in dermatology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or a comparable national organization.

Residents who join the MDS are exempt from dues.
